WARNING: Weak diplomacy | Trump says Israel, Iran may need to ‘Fight it out’

Warning to the world: The U.S. has no legitimate plan to help broker an agreement between Israel and Iran anytime soon, even though the U.S. president is supposed to be an elite-level dealmaker.

“President Donald Trump said he believed it’s possible Israel and Iran could reach an agreement to end their conflict, though the two sides may need to continue fighting before they’re ready to broker a peace deal,” Bloomberg reports.

Said Trump: “Sometimes they have to fight it out, but we’re going to see what happens.”

Is that all you have, Mr. President?

What happened to Trump being a great negotiator?

What about the unfortunate events during the Biden presidency, which Trump said would have never happened if he were president?

Now, he IS president and appears to be relenting on the Israel-Iran situation rather quickly.

We need serious, high-level diplomacy, and we need it now.

The early 21st century teaches that U.S. war objectives and Middle East analyses often fail. While the fall of Iran’s regime may seem appealing, experiences in Iraq and Syria show that power vacuums can splinter nations. A U.S. intervention would strain Trump’s political base and contradict his “America first” policy, which advocates avoiding foreign conflicts after years in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is notable given the recent outline of a new vision for Middle East involvement.

However, U.S. involvement may be unavoidable.

Former Vice President Mike Pence emphasized on “State of the Union” Sunday that Israel’s attack presents a crucial opportunity to persuade Iran to make significant concessions in Trump’s diplomatic efforts to halt its nuclear program. Should this strategy not yield the desired results, it is imperative for the United States to be ready to engage in the conflict. This proactive stance is essential for ensuring regional stability and safeguarding global security interests.

“Now, if the Iranians want to stand down, I think the president’s made it clear he’s willing to enter into negotiations. But there can be no nuclear program of any kind, no enrichment program of any kind,” Pence told CNN’s Dana Bash. “And at the end of the day, if Israel needs our help to ensure that the Iranian nuclear program is destroyed once and for all, the United States of America needs to be prepared to do it, because this is about protecting our most cherished ally.”
