TRUMP THREAT: France offers to help Greenland against possible unprovoked attack

The threat is real.

“President Emmanuel Macron said France would be available to conduct joint exercises to improve security in Greenland, the Danish territory coveted by US President Donald Trump,” Bloomberg reports.

“Greenland is subject to preying ambitions,” Macron told reporters in Nuuk, Greenland, Sunday alongside Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. “Everyone thinks — in France and in the EU — that Greenland shall neither be sold nor taken.”

Macron, a staunch advocate for European sovereignty, is aligning with a growing number of continental leaders who stand firmly against Trump’s intentions regarding the island. This united front underscores the importance of protecting Europe’s interests and maintaining its autonomy in global affairs.

Think about this: The United States is firmly committed to safeguarding South Korea and Taiwan from potential threats posed by North Korea and China. However, if the U.S. were to seize Greenland, it would be acting with a level of aggression comparable to, or even exceeding, that of North Korea and China should they attack South Korea and Taiwan.

Hypocrisy anyone?

“It’s important to show that Denmark and Europe are committed to this territory, which has very high strategic stakes and whose territorial integrity must be respected,” Macron added.

“It means a lot to me … to convey a message of friendship and solidarity from France and the European Union to help this territory face the different challenges: economic development, education, as well as the consequences of climate change,” he continued.

It’s concerning that Trump recently reiterated his intention to “100%” acquire the island, reviving a notion he initially proposed back in 2019.
